Emma Lee Carter, 64, passed away Monday, June 12, 2023 at her home in Weatherford. Graveside Inurnment: 3:15 p.m. Thursday, June 22, 2023 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy., Dallas. Emma was born May 22, 1959 in Corpus Christi, daughter of Albert E. and Theresa Margaret (Roschetzky) Rentfrow. She proudly and honorably served her country in the United States Marine Corps, achieving the rank of Lance Corporal. Emma enjoyed the outdoors, whether it was camping, fishing or taking pictures of the landscape. Her greatest love was sharing her experiences with her children, grandchildren, or close friends. Emma was infatuated with creatures of all walks of life, big or small. She has owned and taken care of a wide plethora of animals. Emma will mostly be remembered for her filter, or lack thereof, speaking her mind and ensuring we learned our lesson. As a Marine, her pride for her country and protection of family were at the forefront of her mind. She will be dearly missed. Semper Fi. Emma was preceded in death by her siblings, Betty, and Coco Margrett. She is survived by her husband, Johnny Carter; children, Emma Yvone Leigh, and Maximilian Wocet Leigh; grandchildren, Xavier, Nathaniel, Emma, Avalyn, and Zoey; siblings, Julia Delainy (82), Joyce Matchet (78), and Peaches Keri Lopez (74); many extended family members, friends, and fellow Marines; as well as her beloved animal friends.
