Elizabeth Ann "Tootsie" Deards

Surrounded by her children, Elizabeth Ann “Tootsie” Deards entered peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Savior on July 29th 2026 in Weatherford Texas. She is greatly missed by all of her family and friends, but her memory will remain with us forever.

Tootsie was born Elizabeth Ann Walker in Odessa, Texas on November 29th, 1952, to Woodrow and Louise Walker. She grew up in the oilfield environment of Odessa, graduating from Odessa High School, class of 1971.

Tootsie had an unmatched sense of humor and was always quick with a witty comeback. She also had a passion for cooking, baking, sewing and crochet. She utilized her baking skills to create beautiful cakes for her family and friends’ special occasions.

Although widowed twice, her fierce independent nature helped make her a survivor, and a loving mother. She always ensured her children were well cared for. Even during the tough times in life, she found ingenious ways to solve problems by relying on her faith and intelligence.

Tootsie started her own business, “Cutting Edge Custom Graphics”, a successful vinyl graphics company. She later expanded into embroidered promotional products, eventually retiring in 2017.

Tootsie suffered a debilitating stroke on July 21, 2021, which left her immobile. The stroke did not take away her wit and humor. She remained full of life stories, family history, and sometimes responses that left you laughing for weeks. Her condition was difficult for her at times, but it served to deepen her faith in her Lord and Savior.

Tootsie was preceded in death by her husbands, Tommy Goodson, and Douglas Deards; her parents, Bo and Louise Walker; her sisters, Darla Pritchett, Marie McGuffin, and Jan Walker; and her niece, Erin Whitlock.

She is survived by her daughter, Amber Lee, and husband, Thomas of Weatherford, Texas; her son, J.D. Goodson and his wife, Ruth; and her son, Hunter Campion, of Bastrop, Texas; her son, Matthew Goodson and wife, Krystal of Monahans, Texas; her grandsons, Gage Goodson of Mineral Wells, Texas, and Kolby Wise of Hallsville, Texas; her brother, Michael Walker and wife, Linda of Bastrop, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

At her request, she will be privately laid to rest in Weatherford Texas. A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
