At a U.S.O. show featuring legendary entertainer Bob Hope, Betty met her future husband, Halbert A. (Tommy) Thompson, an Army Air Corp pilot from Azle, Texas. They were married in 1943. After the war, Betty was a stay at home mother for her sons James, Jerry and Mark, then later a legal and medical secretary in Weatherford. She also assisted Tommy in jewelry stores he owned in Granbury and Weatherford. Betty was a sweet, quiet woman, who loved cooking, quilting, and bridge.
