Elizabeth Ann Cozby, 78, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2022 in Fort Worth. Funeral Service: 1 p.m. Thursday, April 14, 2022 at White's Azle Chapel. Interment: Azleland Memorial Park, Reno. Visitation: 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at White's Funeral Home. Elizabeth Ann was born February 2, 1944 in Wichita County, daughter of George Calvin and Bessie Hudson Cearley. Ann unconditionally and selflessly loved all her children and supported them all her life through the many highs and lows. She also made it her mission to care for the sick, so on June 6, 1972 she became a Licensed Vocational Nurse. She later went back to school and was on Deans Honor List- 1982,and on August 24, 1987 she became a Registered Nurse. She worked for Family Services, Inc. and was RN Nurse Of The Year- 1988 and Volunteer of the Year 1994 and Associates of Biblical Studies-1997 Her passion was working in Hospice. Later in her career she served as a Hospice Clinical Director of Nursing. She always had a love and passion in her heart for the elderly. After she retired, she dedicated her life to the service of others through the creation and development of the Good N.E.W.S Living at Home Block Nurse Program in 1997. She spent countless hours and expended personal resources to establish and direct the Good N.E.W.S program. Whereas, in 1999 alone Good N.E.W.S Program, she and her volunteers spent 4,842 hours and drove 30,239 miles serving 132 seniors enabling 47 of those seniors to avoid premature entering into nursing homes. She, her staff, and volunteers of the Good N.E.W.S program represented so much of what makes the Azle community great. She was awarded the “Lifestyle of Service Award ” by the Mayor of Azle. Ann was preceded in death by husband, Jack Cozby; parents, Calvin Sr. and Bessie Cearley; and brothers, Calvin and Alvin Cearley. Ann is survived by daughters, Cyndey Parsley Lawrence and spouse, Tamara of Fort Worth, Rhonda Carter Taylor and spouse, Lonnie of Boyd, Paula Walker and spouse, Russ of Austin; sons, Harold Carter and spouse, Tina of Fort Worth, Dr. Jesse William Cozby of Fort Worth, Chad Anson Cozby of Fort Worth; she was the proud grandmother of 15 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; brother, Jody Cearley; and sister, Betty Chestnut.
