Edith Rose Drollman

Weatherford, Texas

Edith Rose Wakeland-Merry-Drollman, age 93, former resident of Pleasanton, California, was born on July 21, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan and passed in Weatherford, Texas on Monday, April 29, 2024.

Rose’s final resting place will be at Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam, Kentucky. 

Rememberances can be made to Living Hope Fellowship, 3201 Stanley Blvd., Lafayette, CA.

Rose was raised in McHenry, Kentucky until 1945 at which time her parents, Edythe and Weldon Wakeland drove she and her brother, Bud, to Richmond, California for work. There she attended Richmond High where she met her husband, Robert Merry. They settled in Pleasanton in 1962 and raised three children. Rose worked at the International Kitchen and Massimo’s restaurants in Fremont. She retired in the mid 80’s after 27 years. After Robert died, Rose married Donald Drollman, a successful law attorney of Fremont and they later settled in Angels Camp. After Don’s death, Rose moved to San Ramon to be near family. 

Rose was preceded in death by her sons, Ryan and Scott Merry. 

She is survived by her brother, Weldon Lee “Bud” Wakeland of El Sobrante; daughter, Christine Merry-Diamantine, (Albert) of Castro Valley; grandchildren, Lisa Delashaw-Silveira, (Paulo) of Weatherford, Texas, Johnny Delashaw of Brentwood, Scott Delashaw, (Rosemary) of Half Moon Bay, Mandi Merry of New Hampshire, and Tim Merry, (Jolene) of Idaho; seven great-grandchildren including Jaszmine Gleffe, Christopher Delashaw and Secelli Delashaw; four great great-grandchildren, Asa and Beau Gleffe, Aubrey and Kaiden, all of Texas. Through Don, Rose has three step-daughters, Linda Marshall (Phil) of Livermore, California, Chris West of Oregon, and Terry Clephan of San Luis Obispo; as well as extended family members in Kentucky and Montana. 

Rose died peacefully and is now at home with the Lord. She will be greatly missed by many good friends and family.
