Edgar "Eddie" Lee Evans

Edgar Lee “Eddie” Evans, 78, passed away Friday, January 5, 2024 in Fort Worth. 

Visitation: 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday, January 11, 2024 at White’s Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford.

 Funeral Service: 2 p.m. Friday, January 12, 2024, White’s Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford.

 Interment: Bethesda Cemetery in Garner, Texas.

 In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association 

Eddie was born December 8, 1945 in Waxahachie, the second of eight children of Ercel and Elizabeth (McClure) Evans. He met the love of his life, Joan Patton, and they were married on January 15, 1965, and they would go on to spend nearly 59 happy years together. Eddie worked for 35 years for Southwestern Bell. He enjoyed antique tractor pulls and cattle, but of all of his interests in life, his first love was his family. His grandson was the light of his life. 

He is preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Larry Joe Evans. 

Survivors include his loving wife, Joan Evans; son, Jeff Evans (Brenda); grandson, Zach Evans (Rocio); and one great-grandchild on the way. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Charlotte Davidson, Layton Evans, Elizabeth Freeze, Emily Cockerham, Sidney Evans, and Gloria Myers.
