Eddie Ross Jones

Eddie Ross Jones, 83, passed away Thursday, March 1, 2018 after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease and Melanoma.Service: 11 a.m. Friday, March 9, at White's Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford, 76086. Interment: DFW National Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at White's Funeral Home.Eddie was born October 31, 1934 to Edward and Myrtis Jones in Memphis, Tennessee. During his teenage years, he learned to fly when his dad bought a Piper Cub. Ever since then, he had an avid love of airplanes. He enlisted in the U.S. Army after high school and was stationed in Germany. He served in the 101st Airborne and continued to serve in the Colorado Air National Guard at Buckley for 20 years. He was also a member of the Confederate Air Force.After his career in the military, Eddie moved to Chicago and began working with United Airlines. He was relocated to Denver, Colorado to help open up their new facility and over the years he worked his way to the title of Safety Instructor. In his spare time, he worked in Jefferson County for the Colorado Sheriff’s department. After he retired from United Airlines, he began his own business, “Flight Crew,” which specialized in training pilots and flight attendants all over the world.He moved to Weatherford in 2002 to be near his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom he adored. To meet Eddie was to love him. He never met a stranger in all his life. His fun stories and great jokes will be greatly missed.Eddie was preceded in death by his parents; his older sisters, Dorothy and Norma; and his beloved dog, Stormy.Survivors: daughter, Cynthia Rose and husband, Donal (Buck); grandchildren, Chelsea Rosemann and husband, Scott, Stafford Rose, Salina Kuiper, Chandice Rose, and Tre' Rose; great-grandchildren, Bailey Barfield, Indie Rosemann, Brody Barfield, Oakley Rosemann, Ollie Rosemann, and Hartley Rosemann; and many other extended family.
