Dorotha "Dot" Louise Guess

Dorotha “Dot” Guess, 98, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2022. She is now dancing with Bill in heaven. Visitation: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 31, 2022 in White’s Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Funeral Service: 10 a.m. Thursday, September 1, 2022 in White’s Chapel of Memories. Private Graveside Service: Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas. Memorials: In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in “Dot’s” memory to the Millsap Heritage Society, P. O. Box 792, Millsap, TX 76066, or wreathsacrossamericaDFW.com. “Dot” was born August 1, 1924 in Bennett, daughter of Hershell Bennett and Ione (Gatlin) Ashley. She was very community oriented and was very proud of her home in Millsap. “Dot” was a founding member of Millsap Home and Garden Club, and Millsap Heritage Society. She then turned her sights to Weatherford College, serving on the Board of Trustees for 23 years. Dot was especially proud of their Nursing School. She was also a longtime volunteer at Campbell Memorial Hospital. The family wishes to thank the staff at Windsor Court for their love and devotion to “Dot” for years, especially Ruth, Tonya, Sandra, Tanna, Kim, and so many more. Thanks to Encompass Hospice for their care and compassion. Dot is survived by her son, Tony Guess and wife, Carolyn; daughter, Susie Barnes and husband, Kenney; three grandsons, Christopher Carlson, Jason Guess, and Steven Guess; the most beautiful great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of family members and dear friends.
