Donald Wayne Wright, 71, passed away on November 14, 2021 in Vernon, Texas. Donald was born on August 1, 1950 to Floyd and Norma Wright. He lived in Fort Worth, Texas until moving to Quanah in 1977 when he met and married Shelly Lemon. He worked various jobs while living in Quanah, but eventually retired from working at the North Texas State Hospital. After his retirement from the state, he went on to running the pro shop at the local country club in Quanah. This allowed him to enjoy his favorite hobbies of golf, fishing, and domino games with his friends and family. Donald's favorite memories involved going fishing and playing golf with his grandkids. He loved his family more than anything in the world, especially his grandkids. He was known as “Pa” to all his grandkids friends as they would go and spend time with him just as much as his own grandkids did. All the kids adored him as he let them do pretty much whatever they wanted. His ultimate goal in life was to make his grandkids as happy as they made him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Norma Wright; as well as his grandson, Logan Denham. Donald is survived by his daughters, Melissa Ivy and Tiffany Cline, his brother, Larry Wright; sister, Marcie Childers; and his grandchildren, Dalton Colbert, Madaline Denham, Michael Floyd, Lily Floyd, Cirstin Ivy, Carleigh Ivy, Colesyn Ivy, Angela DeCino, and Chad DeCino; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He will be remembered most by his unfailing love for his friends and family. Memorial service and inurnment to be held at a later date.
