Donald Edgar Nickell, Jr., 66, passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2021. Funeral Service: 2 p.m. Saturday, October 2, 2021 White’s Mineral Wells Chapel, 101 N. E. 4th Ave., Mineral Wells. Visitation: 6 – 8 p.m. Friday, October 1, 2021 at White’s Funeral Home, Mineral Wells. Donald was born April 21, 1955 in Mineral Wells, son of Donald Edgar Nickell, Sr. and Patricia Snelling Nickell. He was an avid collector of army men and all things sci-fi. Spending all of his extra time with his grands was the highlight of his retirement. Donald spent hours with them in his “Man Cave” watching westerns, ancient aliens and anything the kids wanted – he was a true kid at heart. He was career driven and completed his degree’s while working and supporting a family. Donald worked 30 years as an engineer and plant manager gaining experience and making memories and friends along the way. His rank allowed him to travel to Russia for work – a once in a lifetime trip. Survivors: Wife, Ruby Nickell; sons, Eric Nickell and wife, Amanda, and Don Nickell; grandkids, Mercedes, Matthew, Katee, Kiersten, Kacie, Korben, Morgan, Austin, Gavin, Piper, and Willa; great-grands, Abel, Khai, Liam, and baby Alexander due to arrive next month; sisters, Melinda Crawford and husband, Richard, and Suzy Stover and husband, Jeffery; numerous cousins, nephews, extended family members and friends.
