Donald Raymond Bray of Weatherford, Texas passed away on Monday, November 3rd, 2025, at Medical City Hospital after a sudden illness.
He was born to the late Andrew Burl Bray and Albina Lucille Zijek Bray on January 25, 1947, in Graham, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Andrew Burl Bray Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Mable Ruth Elliott Bray, His son Rodney Ray Bray, his daughter Susan Elizabeth Vargas and his sister Wanda. Seven grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, his dog Sugar and several other family members and friends. All of whom he loved and cared for deeply.
After graduating from Haltom High School, his first job was at a florist shop. He enjoyed it. creating arrangements and learning about plants. He then went to work at Lennox air conditioning and heating in Fort Worth. While working at Lennox, he attended night school at TCJC to be certified as a Journeyman. He was a member of the Plumber and Steamfitters Local Union 146.
Don and Mable purchased land in Weatherford, to raise their family, do a little farming and a lot of gardening. Don found peace in the simple little things of life. Long talks with Mable over morning coffee, playing with his dog Sugar and then he would usually head outside to see what the day may hold. Usually mowing or modifying things to more of his or Mable’s liking.
Together, they built their dream home on the Brazos. They would sit for hours on the porch enjoying each other's company and watching the days go by.
Don was dearly loved and will be forever missed.
Funeral Service: 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 11, 2025 in White's Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford.
Interment: Spring Creek Cemetery, Weatherford.
