Deloris “Dorrie” Jean Mohrbacher Jackson went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 21, 2024. She passed away peacefully at her home in Granbury, surrounded by her family. Funeral Service: 9:30 a.m. Saturday, January 27, 2024 in White’s Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford, TX. Interment: Azleland Cemetery, Azle, TX. Visitation: 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 26, 2024 at White’s Funeral Home. Dorrie was born in Fombell, Pennsylvania on February 18, 1931. She was the fourth child, but first girl, born to Frederick Joseph Mohrbacher and Anne Marie Borman Mohrbacher. Dorrie was raised in Ellwood City, PA, where she went to a one room schoolhouse at the age of 4. She was a model student, being moved up two grades, graduating high school at 16 and college at 19. Soon after school, she met John David Jackson and they were married on December 19, 1955 in Virginia. In 1958, they moved to Fort Worth, where they would raise their family. Dorrie was a Registered Nurse for her whole life, and had a passion for pediatric nursing. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Dorrie was an elegant woman, who John always described as his “lovely wife”. Over the years, Dorrie touched many lives, and she will be cherished by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years; and brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Sue Mohrbacher, Robert and Emma Mohrbacher, and Jim and Jimmy Mohrbacher. Deloris is survived by her son, John David Jackson, III; daughter, Nancy (Nancee) Jackson Albeck; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, Grandma Dorrie has requested donations be made to the Alicia Renee Foundation, which offer financial assistance to families who have lost their newborn at birth and require financial assistance with the cremation or burial.
