Deborah “Debbie” Gail Boswell, 76, of Azle passed away peacefully at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth on July 15, 2026, following complications from a recent surgery. She was born July 11, 1950, in Pensacola, Florida, the daughter of the late William Lee and Marjorie Thomas Johnson. She was graduate of Surrattsville High School in Clinton, MD, class of 1968.

On December 7, 1968, Debbie married the love of her life, Larry Boswell in Indian Head, MD. They originally planted their family roots in Charles County, MD and had a wonderful 57 years together. Debbie worked for the FBI for several years and later resigned to be a stay-at-home mom to their 3 children and did DJ and karaoke for over 20 years, which she loved, then continued it and made great friends along the way when they relocated to Texas in 1994.

Debbie was a huge fan of country music. She always loved being around her friends and family, whether they would be singing karaoke, watching American Idol, AGT, America’s Funniest Home Videos, sports, or just staying up talking until 2 a.m. She enjoyed her yearly girls’ trips with Dianne, Kay, Deb, Gerda, Lois, Connie, Nila and many others, no matter where their adventures took them. She was always the life of the party, had the best laugh and always enjoyed her favorite bloody Mary.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by 3 children, Mark Boswell and Laurie Sapp (Jonathan) both of Azle and Michael Boswell (Sandy) of Springtown; grandchildren, Lindsay Mellott (Logan) of Brunswick, MD, Camryn Boswell of Mechanicsville, MD, Emily Booker (Brent) of River Oaks, Michael “Mikey” Boswell, Jr of Springtown and Bryson Smith of Azle; great-grandson, Finnegan “Finn” Booker, which she was referred to as ‘Nanny the great’; 2 sisters, her twin, Donna Duffrin of St Johns, FL and Barbara Goch of St Augustine, FL as well as many nieces , nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Billy Johnson and grandsons, Brenden Mellott and Braden Boswell.

There are not enough words to say how much she was loved, by so many people and how much she’s going to be missed. She is now in the arms of Jesus and will watch over us until it’s our time to reunite with her in heaven. I’m sure she is enjoying catching up with all of those she missed who went before her, including all her beloved pets, especially Casi. A celebration of life for everyone who would like to come will be announced at a later date.
