Memorials: If you would like to donate to a charity, please consider the Alzheimer’s Association at act.alz.org Darrell was born in Winston, Kentucky on September 7, 1938. He was one of seventeen children raised in Estill County, Kentucky. Darrell joined the Navy in 1955, two months after turning seventeen. After being discharged from the Navy, Darrell went to work for San Diego Gas and Electric, becoming a Journeyman Lineman. He worked there for twenty years. In 1984, Darrell and his wife, Jean (Jeanette), moved to Weatherford, Texas where he went to work for the City of Weatherford as an Electric Lineman, retiring in 1999. Darrell was married to Beverly Cornelison from 1959 to 1963. They were blessed with two sons, Billy Darrell Lockett, and Jeffery Clayton Lockett. Darrell was married to Marion Marlyne Montgomery from 1963 to 1975 and they shared the joy of having three children, Michael Milton Lockett (deceased), Kelly Sloan Lockett, and Leslye Colyne Lockett (Slaikeu). Darrell married Jeanette Lucile Hansen in 1975. They enjoyed forty-six years of love and laughter until his passing. They never left each other’s side. Darrell was an avid baseball fan and loved nothing more than watching his sons and grandsons play the game. He coached Little League when his sons were growing up. Darrell was known to disagree with umpires often. After moving to Texas, he became a diehard Texas Ranger’s fan. Darrell worked hard to provide for his family and as they became adults, he supported them in any way he could. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, John Clyde and Lucy Lockett; son, Michael Lockett; and 14 siblings. Darrell is survived by his wife, Jean Lockett of Weatherford; sons, Bill Lockett and wife, Michelle, Jeff Lockett, Kelly Lockett and wife, Marichu (Marie); daughter, Colyne Slaikeu and husband, Bryce; brothers, George Lockett and wife, Judy, of Pensacola, Florida, and Clarence (Frank) Lockett and wife, Cheryl, of Irvine, Kentucky; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
