Daniel A Dickinson

Dan passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of dedication to the outdoors and the shooting and hunting sports. To those who knew him, Dan was a storyteller, a man of his word, and a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was born March 8, 1938 in Boston, Ohio, to Milton and Theda (Billings) Dickinson. When Dan’s job moved him to Texas that is where he met his wife, Dana (Weinbrenner) Dickinson. Then he said “That’s my last move. I am never leaving Texas.”. They celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary in January 2026 – still in Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Roy, great grandson Devon, and son-in-law Tonn Hayden. Dan is survived by his sister Mabel (Dickinson) Wonsetler her husband David, and sister-in-law Veda June Dickinson. His children are Daniel Donald Dickinson (Missy), Debra Jean Reynolds (R.D.), Carole Sue Phillips (Jeff), and Amy Dunn Hayden. Grandchildren are Dustin Duane Dickinson (Debra), Ryann Reynolds Strange (Josh), and Grady Reynolds (Bailey). He is survived by five beautiful great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

If you knew Dan at all, you knew he had a very adventurous spirit. He traveled the world hunting, fishing, and shooting clay sports. His spiritual legacy and love of the outdoors has been passed on to all of his descendants.

Visitation will be held at White’s Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave, Weatherford, TX 76086 on October 6, 2026 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

Memorial donations can be made to the Outdoors Tomorrow Foundation, NSSA-NSCA Endowment Fund, or the American Cancer Society.
