Dan Curtis Fletcher

May 30, 1947 — August 6, 2025

Springtown

Dan Curtis Fletcher, born May 30, 1947, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Marvin and Faye Fletcher, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2025, surrounded by those who loved him most. Dan lived a vibrant and fulfilling life, defined by his devotion to family, his love of the outdoors, and his adventurous spirit. He was a proud father to three children: David Fletcher, Jinny McCorkle, and Jim Fletcher, and a loving stepfather to Harold Buffington. He adored his grandchildren, Parker Fletcher and Lily Rank, who brought him tremendous joy and pride.

One of Dan’s greatest passions was cutting horses. He deeply loved the sport, the horses, and the sense of tradition and connection that came with it. Whether competing, spectating, or just spending quiet moments at the barn, Dan found true peace and purpose in the world of cutting. It was more than a hobby—it was a way of life that captured his grit, patience, and cowboy heart.

Dan also had a lifelong love for motorcycles, fishing, and rodeo. He was most at home under the open sky—on the back of a horse, a bike, or with a fishing rod in hand. These weren’t just pastimes—they were the soundtrack of a life well-lived.

Dan was also an avid bass guitar player. As a teenager, he played in the band Larry and The Blue Notes, sharing his talent and love for music early in life. Later on, that love never faded—he found great joy playing bass guitar for his Cowboy church, where he blended faith and music in a way that lifted others.

But what truly set Dan apart was his humor. He never passed up the opportunity to share a good dad joke—often followed by a grin before the punchline even landed. His sense of humor brought light to every room and left laughter echoing behind him.

Above all else, Dan’s heart belonged to his wife and best friend, Shirley Fletcher. Their love was deep and enduring, built on shared adventures and countless miles traveled together. Whether near or far, every moment with Shirley was his favorite place to be.

A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. followed by a ceremony at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at White's Funeral Home in Springtown, Texas. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Dan’s honor to the Parkinson’s Foundation. Dan leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, loyalty—and more than a few good punchlines. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
