With heavy hearts, yet filled with gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Curtis Allan Hissam, who entered the presence of his Lord and Savior on June 26, 2026, at the age of 59.
Curtis was born on December 19, 1966, in Robbinsdale, Minnesota. He lived a life rooted in faith, family, hard work, and adventure. Those who knew him will always remember one of his favorite sayings: "Jesus loves you, and so do I."
Curtis graduated from Aledo High School before attending Tennessee Tech on a football scholarship. He found great joy in God's creation, whether traveling the country with his wife, Marion, joining his church on international mission trips, or pursuing the challenge of high- pointing all fifty states alongside his brother, Spencer. Remarkably, they reached the highest point in forty-one states, leaving only nine to go. Some of Curtis’s favorite stories—and certainly some of the funniest—came from these "Bropeaks" trips, which occasionally included Marion and sister-in-law, Carla.
He loved life's simple pleasures: spending time with and making pancakes for his grandchildren, coaching pee wee football for Jonathan and Matthew, grilling for family and friends, telling a good story, relaxing on the patio with a pipe and a fine glass of whiskey, cheering on the Texas Rangers, playfully teasing those he loved most, enjoying a good book, and visiting Broken Bow with friends.
Curtis dedicated 34 years of his career to Watts Water Technologies as a mechanical engineer, where he was respected for his knowledge, dedication, and integrity.
He is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart, Marion Hissam; his mother, Linda Hissam; his brother, Spencer Hissam (Carla); his children: Jonathan Hissam (Callie), Matthew Hissam (Becca), Rebekah Hissam (Nik DeBaun); his nephew, Lucas Hissam; his niece, Rose Hissam; and his grandchildren: Hazel, River, Jasper, Ridge, and Everett. He is also survived by countless friends who became family over the years.
Though our hearts are broken by his absence, we rejoice in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ and find peace in knowing that Curtis has been welcomed into his heavenly home.
Family viewing and visitation will be held on Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 at White’s Funeral Home in Weatherford, Texas.
A celebration of Curtis's life will be held on Tuesday, June 30th, at two o'clock in the afternoon at The Church at the Crossing in Aledo, Texas. Curtis requested that everyone dress comfortably.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to one of Curtis’s favorite ministries, Elizabeth’s Voice at elizabethsvoice.org/donate or Venmo: @elizabeths-voice
In the days ahead, the family asks that you honor Curtis's memory by spending time with those you love, enjoying God's beautiful creation, and sharing the love of Jesus with others.
