Claudell Potter, 85, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend passed away Friday, October 7, 2022. Service: 10:00 A.M. Friday, October 14, 2022 at White’s Azle Chapel, Azle. Private burial at DFW Cemetery. Caludell was born November 12, 1936 to Dell and Thelma Coleman Odum. She married the love of her life, Albert Edward Potter. She loved being a mom and in 1978 she and Albert were “House Parents” to Navajo Indian children in New Mexico, providing them with a stable Christian home when their own family couldn’t care for them. A few years later they started their own ministry on the Navajo reservation taking care of children and single mothers who had no one to help them. Over the years in their ministry they fostered over 350 kids. They went to Washington DC to receive the Jefferson Award in recognition of their work on the Reservation. Claudell was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert Potter; sons, Rusty Potter and Christopher Potter. Survivors include sons, Thomas Potter and wife, Mary, Mark Potter and wife, Elena, Robert Potter and wife, Luisa and Gary Potter and wife, Sharon; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
