Senior Chief Petty Officer Claud Herman Hartsfield, 83, of Greenwood, Arkansas, passed away on July 6, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.

Claud was born on October 10, 1941 in Greenwood, Arkansas to Hubert Eugene Hartsfield and Julia Elizabeth (Mathis) Hartsfield.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a proud veteran of the United States Navy. Claud served his country honorably as a Radioman in the U.S. Navy, retiring with the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer. His dedication to duty and strength of character earned the respect of his fellow servicemen and women. Following his military service, Claud continued his commitment to excellence as a planner at Lockheed, where he retired after a successful civilian career.
Claud was preceded in death by his parents, his 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia Goldsmith Hartsfield, and his children Ronald Douglas McClure (Lisa) and Calandra McClure Arvisu (David). Claud was a loving grandfather to: Candra & Danny Esquivel, Crue & Anel Baker, Zandra & Cody Burkham, Nikkos Arvisu, Vivienne Arvisu, Sierra McClure, Shara & Josiah Michaelson, Shaylee & Daniel Stewart, Joseph McClure, Jayce McClure, Austin & Paris ViaGomez, Lydia Arvisu, David & Olivia Arvisu and Abigail Arvisu. He also leaves behind a cherished legacy through his great-grandchildren: Nataleigh Esquivel, Santana Esquivel, Samantha Esquivel, Kate'Lynn Baker, Jacob Baker, Lucy Arvisu, Maci McClure, Lyle Michaelson, Cash Norwood, and Campbell Stewart.
Claud found joy in the simple things—working out on his land, enjoying the beauty of nature, and, most of all, spending time with his large and loving family. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, generous heart, and the lasting example he set through a life of service, hard work, and love.A military funeral with full honors will be held at the graveside burial to celebrate his life and legacy.“Well done, good and faithful servant.” – Matthew 25:23.
