Charles Christopher “Chuck” Hamilton, 89, of Weatherford, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2022. A celebration of life visitation: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at White’s Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave, Weatherford, prior to the service at the church. Mass of Christian Burial: 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at St. Stephen Catholic Chapel, 211 South Main St., Weatherford. Burial: 11:15 a.m. Thursday, April 7, 2022 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy., Dallas. Chuck was born October 7, 1932 in Nashville, Tennessee, son of Norman Lee and Mary Hope Guyton Hamilton, and grew up in New Albany, Mississippi. He met and married the love of his life, Carrol Henderson, and they spent 62 happy years together. Chuck proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Air Force in both the Korean and Vietnam wars, retiring after 20 years. He received numerous medals, badges, awards and ribbons during his military career. After his service, he owned and operated several businesses, including Midas Muffler in Fort Worth and Chuck’s Muffler Shop in Weatherford. Chuck was appointed by Governor Clements to the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Advisory Board, and was a longtime member and past President of the Mineral Wells Airport Board. Chuck was a pilot and flying was his favorite pastime. He especially enjoyed serving as an Angel Flight Pilot, but his greatest love was his family. Chuck was preceded in death by a son, Clay Charles Hamilton of Towanda, Pennsylvania; his parents, Norman Lee and Mary Hope Hamilton, of Memphis, Tennessee; and four sisters. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Carrol Hamilton; three sons, Nicholas Lee, Joseph Christopher, Jay Scott; one daughter, Cathleen Carrol; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and many other extended family members and dear friends.
