Chad O'Darrel Hazelton, 51, beloved son, brother and uncle, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2026 in Fort Worth, Texas.
Memorial Service: 10:00 AM, Friday, September 18, 2026 at White's Funeral Home Chapel, Springtown, Texas.
He was born on November 9, 1974 in Sierra Vista, AZ to William and Judy (Lunsford) Hazelton.
When Chad was a child, he contracted leukemia. He bravely endured the chemo, went on to beat the cancer and lived to be the longest surviving bone marrow transplant survivor for Cooks Children's Hospital. Chad was a remarkable saddle maker who worked for the exclusive Calvin Allen Saddlery in Weatherford, Texas. But age was not kind to Chad in his later years. First he was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, and then rheumatoid arthritis which stole his career. Then he developed heart issues, after that a different type of leukemia, and finally liver cancer.
Through all of these health struggles, Chad remained hopeful and maintained his sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by so many, but we have faith we will meet again in the next life where there will be no cancer, no pain, and no tears. He loved God, music, his family, his friends, and his church family. Chad will be remembered for his generosity, his stubborn nature, and his wonderful sense of humor in the face of life-long adversity.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his brother Brad Hazelton (Monica), sister Carmen Huff (Zach), sister Amanda Flaugher (Allen), nieces Kali, Naomi, Mackenzie, Isabella, Eleanor, and Elizabeth, and nephews Noah, Josiah, Joshua, and Jude.
