Catherine Montroy

Catherine Baker Montroy, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend passed peacefully while surrounded by love on Wednesday, July 3, 2018.A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church, 907 Washington, Weatherford, 76086.In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Wounded Warrior Project.Catherine was born on a Tuesday, the 24th of April in 1923 in Hickory, North Carolina.  She fell in love with a dashing airman, Robert G. Ritchie, in 1941, and had three beautiful children.  The Air Force took them around the world and gave them all memories only few are privileged to experience.  From Japan to Hawaii, the Ritchies stamped their passport with love.  Catherine lost her first love in 1980, but God graced her with her second love in 1982.Catherine and John Montroy spent their retirement years in Bella Vista, Arkansas.  The lake on which they lived became a beloved family home by the entire family.After the death of her second love, Catherine went south to Weatherford, Texas.  In Weatherford, she lived so many happy days.  She was able to witness her grandchildren marry and hold her great-grandchildren.With the grace of God, Catherine lived 95 wonderful years that were filled with love, laughter, and family.Robert G. Ritchie, Col. Ret., and John Montroy, M. D. precede Catherine in death.Catherine is survived by her children, Robert Ritchie and his wife, Hilda, Gary Ritchie and Deborah Rhine; her grandchildren, Dana Ritchie, Robert Ritchie and his wife, Christie, Heather Eaton and her husband, Russell, Justin Rhine and his wife, Priscilla, Christopher Rhine and Christian Ritchie; her great-grandchildren, Hanna Ritchie, Ozzie Parker, Hayes Ritchie, Malaya Rhine, and Hendrix Rhine.
