Catherine “Katie” Jane Ramsey Coffman, 86, was born in Boone County, Indiana on December 1, 1936 and passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 26, 2023 in Glen Rose, Texas. Funeral service: 11 a.m. Saturday, February 4, 2023 at White's Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Interment: Date and time to be determined due to the weather at Memory Gardens of the Valley Perpetual Cemetery, 5600 Mineral Wells Highway, Weatherford, Texas 76088. Memorials: In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to Somervell Citizens Center, 209 S. W. Barnard St., Glen Rose, Texas 76043, 254-897-2139. Katie and Bud had a seventy one year love story our whole family admired, respected, and adored. They had four boys and lovingly watched their family grow into something they cherished daily. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren marry and have children of their own, her great-grandchildren playing the sports they loved, and the great-great-grandchildren who would come to get bubblegum and dum-dum suckers. Being the matriarch of our family was her biggest blessing. She showered all of us with love, words of comfort, wisdom, and support while cooking something amazing, playing cards, and teaching us the songs we couldn’t repeat. Preceded in death by the love of her life, George “Bud” Coffman Jr.; father, Russell Ramsey; mother, Susie Ramsey; sons, Randy Coffman and Rodney Coffman; brothers, Sam Ramsey, Joe Ramsey, Dick Ramsey, Wilbur Ramsey, and Marvin Ramsey; sisters, Helen Ramsey, Mary Craig, Wilburta Ottinger, and Martha McFarland. Survived by sons, Rick Coffman and wife, Betty, and Ronnie Coffman and wife, Brenda; sisters, Orpha Wyant and Bonnie Smith; eight grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren with one on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers: Michael Carey Sr., Jody Coffman, RJ Coffman, Michael Carey Jr., Danny Hurtado, and Dakota Van Voast.
