Carolyn B Thompson, 88, passed away Monday, July 22, 2024 in Azle. She was born on October 1, 1935 in Los Angeles, CA to Asaph and Virginia Blaskowsky. She was the third of eight children and grew up with her parents and siblings in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. Carolyn married George Burke Lutman on December 1, 1953 and had five children with him.
She and George moved to Azle in 1980 and joined the First Assembly of God congregation there. Carolyn was very active in her church, answering phones and taking prayer requests two to three days a week. She was known as a prayer warrior, and many in the church looked to her as a surrogate mom.
Carolyn is survived by a sister, Eleanor Koonce; three children, Kathy McLemore, Patti Hoyle, and Curt Lutman; two sons in law, Pat McLemore and John Hoyle; seven grandchildren, Frances, Randall, Charity, Patrick, Bryan, Ashley, and Joseph; seven great-grandchildren; and multitudes of nieces and nephews and their children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George; her second husband, KW; her sons, Richard and Ronnie; and her siblings, Wanda, Lorraine. Charles Leroy, Ruby, Louise, and Loyd.
Her memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Azle First Assembly of God, 1020 Southeast Pkwy, Azle TX 76020.
