Carolyn Kay Neighbors, 80, passed away February 16, 2022 in Springtown. Graveside Service: 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 21, 2022 at Nocona Cemetery. Carolyn was born on June 15, 1941 in Childress to James W. “Bill” Luton and Daurice Kyser Luton. She was a retired teacher having served as an educator for 33 years.Carolyn had taught in several areas in Texas, before making her home in Krum. She began teaching in Ponder ISD and served there for around 20 years. Carolyn touched the lives of many of her students and some of them kept in contact with her. She was an avid reader of books and a gatherer of knowledge. Her favorite Book was the Bible. Carolyn was a constant student of scripture and for years shared with others the truth of God’s Word. Carolyn was preceded in death by her father, Reverend James W. “Bill”Luton and her mother, Daurice Kyser Luton. She is survived by her sister, Barbara Park and husband James; her brother, James Luton and wife Carol; her nephews, Scott Lambright and Thomas Luton; and niece, Kathryn O’Neal; great nieces, Amber Lambright, Shelby Reed, McKenzie Morgana and Mallory O’Neal; great nephews, Aaron O’Neal, William Luton and Anson Luton; great-great nephews, Beckham Morgana and Wyatt Reed. She was loved and will be missed and remembered by all her relatives and friends who knew her.
