Carolyn Jane Woodson Coker

Carolyn Jane Woodson Coker, 83, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2026 in Weatherford, Texas.

Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 13, 2026 at White's Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford.

Graveside Service: 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at Zion Hill Cemetery, Zion Hill Road at Johnson Bend Road in Parker County.

Carolyn was born on September 5, 1942 in Dallas, Texas to Francine Floretta Sims Woodson and Guy Morris Woodson. She later attended Sulphur Springs High School where she played basketball and learned to play piano for the First United Methodist Church.

She married Joe Richard Coker right after graduating high school and moved to Philadelphia for Joe to serve in the Navy and their first son, Ronny Joe, was born on March 4, 1961. Their second son, Ricky, was born on November 21, 1966.

After the service, Carolyn and Joe moved to Dallas where they lived until 1972 then moved to Canton, where she continued to play piano for Wallace United Methodist Church, living next to her parent's farm.

They later moved to Lake Fork and enjoyed fishing for a few years until Joe passed away in 2000. Carolyn moved to Weatherford and enjoyed her retirement until a lengthy illness sadly took her life on July 8, 2026 at 9:20 AM.

Carolyn is survived by her sister, Dorothy Francine Hambright of Forney, Texas; son, Ronny Joe and wife, Gwen, and their daughter, Katie and husband, Blake Talbot of Tolar, Texas; great-grandchildren, Cheyenne, Ty, and Bryleigh Kate Talbot; son, Ricky; and granddaughter, Nicole Marie.
