Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 1, 2024 at White’s Funeral Home Chapel in Springtown. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, February 29, 2024 at White’s Funeral Home Chapel in Springtown. Interment: Cottondale Cemetery, Springtown. Carl was born July 21, 1944 in Luverne, Minnesota, son of John and Freida (Bruns) Meinerts. He joined the U.S. Army as a young man and in his travels met his wife, Norma Jean. Carl served 27 years, retiring as Sergeant Major, receiving a number of awards, including the Meritorious Service Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Norma Jean Finley Meinerts; brother and sisters, Lowell Meinerts, Clarice Phillips, LylaMae VandenBerg and Enola Kortlever. He is survived by his children, Carla Anne Allred (Wade), Douglas Wayne Meinerts (Sandra), and Sherry Meinerts; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, George, John, Louise Wylie and Allan, Sandra Ammons and family; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of extended family members and friends.
