Buddy Windle Martin, 87, beloved father and grandfather, passed away at home Wednesday, May 27, 2026 in Springtown, Texas.
Funeral Service: 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at White's Funeral Home Chapel in Springtown, Texas.
Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at White's Funeral Home Chapel in Springtown, Texas.
Interment: Wednesday, June 3, 2026 in Springtown Cemetery in Springtown, Texas.
Born on April 9, 1939, in Weatherford, Texas, Buddy spent his life deeply rooted in the community he loved and faithfully served.
Buddy graduated from Springtown High School, where he met the love of his life, Diane Floyd. The two were married on May 20, 1960, and shared 63 wonderful years together building a loving home and raising their family in Springtown.
Buddy dedicated his entire professional career to Lockheed Martin, where he worked in logistics and retired as a respected supervisor. Beyond his career, Buddy devoted countless hours to serving others. He was a longtime member of Hilltop Family Church, active in the Lockheed Martin Management Club, and proudly served the Springtown Volunteer Fire Department for many years, including as Fire Chief. He also served on the ESD Board, continuing his commitment to protecting and improving his community.
Buddy was known for his strong work ethic, servant’s heart, and love for the simple joys in life. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, traveling, and spending time outdoors working on projects. Above all, he treasured his family and the many friendships he built throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Diane Martin, and his firstborn son, Rodney Martin.
Buddy is survived by his children, Greg Martin and Amy Welch; and his cherished grandchildren, Ashton Barnard, Jaden Welch, and Jalen Welch along with many extended family members and friends who will deeply miss him.
Buddy’s legacy of faith, service, hard work, and devotion to family will live on in all who knew and loved him.
