Brenda was born July 29,1946 in Gorman, Texas to Virgil and Maxine (Elton) Doggett. She attended her K-12 education in Bruno, Arkansas, College at the School of the Ozarks in Branson, Missouri, and Business School in Springfield, Missouri.
Brenda married the love of her life, Jimmy Charles Jordan, on March 17, 1973. There truly wasn’t a greater love than the love story they shared. They were absolutely crazy about each other and were inseparable. Not many men are found carrying their wife’s purse around, but Jimmy was always found toting Brenda’s purse. Their grandchildren always laughed because they would see their Nanny coming into the ballgame first, and their Papa’J right behind with her purse over his shoulder.
Brenda was a clothes maker, a farmer of vegetables, melons, cotton, and peanuts. Brenda and Jimmy began a greenhouse business and Jimmy gave it the name “Baby’s Greenhouse” because “Baby” is what he always called her. They ran the business for 13 years before retiring and turning it over to their son, Johnny Jordan and wife Cindy.
After retiring, Brenda and Jimmy spent their summer/fall traveling. They went Rving, camping, fishing and sight seeing all over the United States. They absolutely loved traveling and visiting new places, but their favorite spot was Peel, Arkansas where many of the family joined them. They loved taking the family out on the boat to catch fish and making bonfires for the grandchildren.
Brenda loved laughter and never met a stranger. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Anytime one of the grandkids would introduce a friend or a boyfriend to her, she would say, “Hi, I’m Nanny, and that’s what you can call me.” She was “Nanny” for so many, especially her grandchildren’s basketball and volleyball teams. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her. Especially her laugh, smile, stories, and wisdom.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Jimmy Charles Jordan; parents; grandparents N.H. “Shang” and Emma Henley Elton, and Ira and Maggie Carter Doggett; sister Geraldine McEntire; and brother Virgil Ray Doggett.
Survivors include son, Tony Henson and wife Diana; stepson Johnny Jordan and wife Cindy; stepdaugher Kathy Baker and husband Chris; sister Linda Shults; nieces and nephews Christina Feeser, Gregory McEntire and wife Kaye, Roger McEntire and wife Cindy, Brian Rowe; grandchildren Hannah Roberson and husband Emerson, Heather White and husband Marshall, Jeremy Jordan and wife Brook, Kristy Ward, Cheyanne Lyons and husband Tim, Kimberly Baker, Kasey Baker; great-grandchildren Michael, Ireland, Piper, Jax, Finn, Harlow, Ryker, Zane, Emberly, Molly, Sam and Alina; and great-great grandchild, Honey.
