Brenda Louise Anderson

Brenda Louise Scruggs Anderson passed away on June 9, 2026, at her home in Weatherford, surrounded by her family.

Brenda was born on June 27, 1946, in Jacksonville, Texas, to Andrew and Doloris Ashworth Scruggs. Brenda grew up in Jacksonville, but because her father was in the military, she experienced life beyond Texas. She lived for a time in France, near Bordeaux, as a little girl. After her marriage to her husband, Victor, in 1970 they continued their adventures living in Arlington, Texas for 11 years, moving to Sioux Falls, South Dakota for another five years, and subsequently to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for 14 years. They decided it was time to come home in 2001 and built a home in Weatherford, Texas.

She began her professional life in finance and accounting, working for a defense contractor. However, when she became a mother, she chose to become a homemaker to focus on raising her son. Those who knew Brenda would describe her as strong-willed and genuine. She was never afraid to share her thoughts and convictions, yet she was one of the sweetest people you could meet.

Brenda found happiness in life's simple pleasures—watching old western movies, sharing time with family, and enjoying a scoop of Neapolitan ice cream. Above all else, she treasured her grandchildren, who brought immeasurable joy to her life and held a special place in her heart.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Victor Anderson Sr.; their son, Vic Jr., and his wife, Stephanie; her grandchildren, Emma, Victor III, and Whitten. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Brenda will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother. Her kind heart, strong spirit, and genuine nature left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her, and she will be deeply missed.
