Billy Wayne Ellis, 85, passed away January 26, 2021, in Springtown, Texas. He was born April 10, 1935, in Grapevine, Texas, to Albert R. Ellis and Sybil Cursey Ellis. He is preceded in death by his father Albert, his mother Sybil, brothers Tom Ellis and Jim Ellis, son David, and grandson Bryan Smith. He served in the United State Army. Following his time in the military he became a Journeyman Electrician, with a standing membership of the IBEW Local Union 20 for 59 years. Billy lived life in the fast lane racing cars with SCCA with his Austin Healy 3000, building engines, and tinkering in his garage. Billy was a member of the First Baptist Church of Springtown. Teaching Sunday School and taking the youth to camp were just some of the many ways he loved serving his church and the Lord. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and watching his family grow. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Shirley, Daughters, Sylvia Harp and husband Lance, Debra Smith and husband Richard, Kathryn Carter and husband Timothy. Grandchildren Brandon and Morgan Harp, Kelsee and Benjamin Buentello, and Jarrod and Alicia Smith, and five great-grandchildren.
