Billy J. Dickerson, 82, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, on Thursday, November 16, 2023. Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 27, 2023 at the First Baptist Church of Springtown. Visitation: 10 to 11 a.m., Monday, November 27, 2023 at the First Baptist Church of Springtown. Interment: 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 27, 2023 in Paradise Cemetery, Paradise. He was born to James and Doris (Luna) Dickerson on December 27, 1940 in Quinlan, Tx. Billy attended Quinlan High School where he played basketball for the Quinlan Panthers. After graduation, he moved to Dallas to find employment. While living in Dallas, he met the love of his life and married Joyce Henderson Dickerson on October 19, 1963 at Bethany Baptist Church. He began his career with Allied Aviation and Fueling at Dallas Love Field Airport in 1966. Upon completion of Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, he continued his career there until retirement in October 2003. After retiring, he and Joyce moved to Springtown, Texas to be closer to their family. Billy was a member of the First Baptist Church in Springtown where he served on the Grounds and Maintenance Committee. He also enjoyed repairing lawn mowers and small engines for friends and neighbors. In their spare time, they enjoyed traveling to Branson, Missouri, Fredericksburg, Texas, and other parts of the United States. He also enjoyed sitting on his back porch watching the squirrels, birds and deer. Billy was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and sister. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joyce; son, Cary Dickerson; daughter, Cristi Sharp and husband Brett; grandsons, Landon Sharp, Garrett Sharp and wife Amber; great-grandsons, Heston Sharp and Henry Sharp.
