Billie June Stone

June 12, 1931 — January 12, 2022

Billie June Lemmon Stone, age 90, left this life for her eternal home on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 after a lengthy battle with heart disease. She was loved and cared for by family and friends in her home until her last earthly breath. A family and friends gathering to celebrate Billie Stone’s life is planned for February 19, 2022 in her home. Our mom always had a heart for hurt children, animals and armed forces, and her favorite charities were St. Jude Children’s Hospital and Wounded Veterans. If you wish to donate to these or other charities in her memory, she would be honored. Billie, (Mom, Granma, GG) was born on June 12, 1931 in Wichita Falls, TX. At age 8, she went to live with Mamaw and DaddyPa Lemmon where she gained a sister, Beatt Campbell, and a ranch home in which to grow up. After high school graduation, Billie went to nursing school in Ft Worth at St. Joseph’s Hospital, where she attained her LVN license. During this time, she met the love of her life, Bob Stone, on a blind date and 6 weeks later they were married. They were blessed with 3 children and some wonderful lifetime friends. Billie had many losses in life, but none as devastating as her beloved Bob in 1980 after 30 years of marriage. She was also predeceased by her in-laws, Willis and Velma Stone, son Scott, closest friends Bernard and Mary Otto, Claude and Jo Dodson, as well as many other friends through the years. Left to cherish her memory are daughters Tracey Thomas (Mike), Susan Harrison (Dwight), daughter-in-law, Kim Stone, grandchildren Stephanie Cargill (Justin), Joshua Thomas (Megan), Shannon Sherrod (Blake), Lindsay Pugh, Samantha LaJone (Emmett), Courtney Stone, and Pearl Harrison, great-grandchildren Kane and Annie Adams, Avery, Zoe and Levi Thomas, Emily and Bethany Pugh, Jackson and Logan Sherrod, Easton Shaw, Savannah, Sophia, Amy, and Justin Headrick Jr., multiple nieces and nephews, especially Greg Stone who visited so faithfully. Also, extended and beloved relatives Alvy and Nan Dodson family and Mark (Karen) and Stephen Otto. In addition, much appreciation is given to her caregivers Ashley Aydelotte and Nancy Cargill, as well as Klarus Hospice nurses and special friend Tanesha.
