Billie Jean Hamilton, 89, passed away peacefully at her home in Santo Monday, April 19, 2021. Graveside Service: 2:00 P.M. Thursday, April 22, 2021 at Santo N. Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday at White’s Funeral Home, Weatherford. Billie Jean was born to John G. Street and Willie Mae Tarter Street in Cleburne on April 28, 1931. She grew up on a peanut farm in rural Johnson County, and was the middle child between two older siblings, John Street, Jr and Faye Hutton, and two younger siblings, Joy Miller and George Street. She went to school in the small community of Friendship. Billie and husband, Arvie G. Hamilton, raised their children in Weatherford and Santo. While in Weatherford, they were members of Emmanuel Baptist Church, and while in Santo they were members of First Baptist Church. They took great joy in raising their family. Once their children were grown, Arvie and Billie Jean opened their first restaurant, “Billie Jean’s.” Throughout the years, Billie Jean enjoyed knowing and serving her community through good food and her gift of hospitality. However, her ultimate pride was in her family. Billie was very intentional to always share how much she loved each one of them and to offer the steady reminder to “Stay close to God”. She was preceded in death by her parents, John G. Street and Willie Mae Tarter Street; husband, Arvie Hamilton; sister, Faye Hutton; brother, John Street, Jr.; son, Duane Hamilton; and grandson, Jason Hamilton. Billie Jean is survived by her children, Greg Hamilton, Dan Hamilton (Latha), Melinda Edwards (Gene), and Marsha Hamilton; grandchildren, Misty Hamilton, Micah Hamilton (Kelly), Matthew Hamilton (Michelle), Mark Hamilton (Jenny), Haley Price (Matthew), Sarah Hill (Christopher), Rebecca Roach (John), Kayla Edwards, Christina Newbold (Jeff), Brian Hamilton (Rachel), Rebekah Hamilton, John David Hamilton(Katelyn), Victoria Hamilton and Stephen Hamilton; numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Joy Miller; brother, George Street (Denise).
