Barbara Hartis Sullivan, 83, long-time resident of Springtown, Texas passed from this life peacefully in her sleep, into the arms of Jesus, our Savior Tuesday, December 19, 2023. Funeral: 2:00 P.M., Saturday, December 23, 2023 Springtown Church of Christ, Springtown. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, December 22, 2023, at White's Funeral Home Chapel, Springtown. Interment: Saturday, December 23, 2023 in Springtown Cemetery. Barbara was born June 6, 1940 in Bosque County, Texas to William Martin Hartis and Clara Mae McCain Hartis Smith. She attended school in Glen Rose, Texas enjoying the life of a majorette and athlete. Barbara was chosen as Miss Glen Rose and Miss Granbury. She was an Executive Secretary and Harbison-Fisher for 40+ years and retired from there. She was a member of the Desk & Derrick association for many years and enjoyed many trips with dear friends. Besides traveling, she loved to dance. She was a long-time member of the Springtown Church of Christ. She was an elegant, refined, gracious lady, and a dedicated, selfless wife, mother and grandmother. All who knew her loved her and were blessed by her quiet, gentle spirit. She was preceded in death by her parents, William “Bill” Hartis and Clara Mae and brother, William Harley Hartis; and granddaughter, Bailey Sullivan. Barbara is survived by her husband James “Sandy” E. Sullivan; her brother Kenneth Hartis (Deb), brother-in-law Jackie Sullivan (Linda); her children Gay Meyer Sills (JC), Christy Sullivan; her grandchildren, Heather Casey (Ashley), Joshua Dunlap (Estella), Chelsea Sills (Derek) and Cara Anderson (Mathias); great-grandchildren, Forrest, Hunter and Ranger Jackson, Jaycie Shearon, Kinsley and Emma Anderson.
