Barbara Gayle Stewart

Barbara Gayle Woodard Stewart passed away on January 15, 2026. She was born on April 12, 1939, in Edinburg, Texas, to Charles Clinton Woodard and Maudie Opal Wilburn Woodard. Barbara was raised in Lamesa, Texas, and graduated from Lamesa High School.

In 1957, she married Kenneth Ray Stewart, and together they had two daughters, Ora Diane Stewart Boshers and Barbara Lynn Stewart. Barbara worked as a hairdresser in Lubbock, Texas, and Sparks, Nevada. After earning her Bachelor of Science degree, she pursued a calling in healthcare and worked as a registered nurse in Fort Worth, Texas.

Barbara was a longtime member of a quilting club and greatly enjoyed reading. She will be remembered for her dedication to her family, her strong work ethic, and her creativity.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Adren J. Woodard and J.C. Woodard; her sisters, Charlene Cravey and Shirley Sampley; her husband, Kenneth Stewart; and her daughter, Ora Diane Boshers.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Barbara Lynn Stewart; her grandchildren, Angela Nichols, Brandon Nichols, Brent Burgess, Heather Burgess, and Chad Boshers; her great-grandson, Devan Nichols; her great-granddaughters, Kayla Nichols and Kimber Nichols; her sister, Nancy Jean Crumpton; her son-in-law, John Boshers; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Barbara was loved by many and will forever remain in our hearts.
