Barbara Ann Stanislav

August 5, 1941 — December 7, 2025

Weatherford, Texas

Barbara Ann Stanislav, 84, born August 5, 1941, in Galveston, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

Barbara grew up in Texas City and later attended the University of North Texas, where she met the love of her life, Stan—a partnership that blossomed into 64 beautiful years of marriage. As a proud and devoted wife, Barbara embraced each new chapter with grace, making a home wherever life took their family. Eventually, they settled in Dallas, Texas, and later spent 13 wonderful years in Marietta, Georgia, where she worked as a physician assistant in a private practice. After six years in San Francisco, California, they returned to Texas.

Throughout her life, Barbara gave endlessly of her time and heart. She volunteered in churches, hospitals, schools, and animal organizations, always seeking ways to lift others up. For the past 34 years, she found her deepest joy at the family’s ranch in Weatherford, Texas—a place she lovingly transformed into a haven for family, friends, and countless animals.

Barbara was a devoted wife, nurturing mother, adoring grandmother, and a steadfast friend. She never hesitated to offer a warm meal, a helping hand, or one of her unforgettable hugs. Her strong faith illuminated her life, and she was an active and joyful parishioner at St. Stephen Catholic Church, where she participated in the Catholic Daughters, the Altar Society, and lovingly organized the monthly Senior Luncheons.

Her greatest happiness came from time spent with her family, her cherished friends, and the many animals she cared for on the ranch. Barbara dedicated her life to creating a welcoming, loving home where everyone felt embraced. Her radiant smile, gentle spirit, and generous heart will be missed beyond measure but will live on in all who were blessed to know her.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Louise Kirby-Slaton and Wilmer Austin Slaton, and her brother, Wilmer Ardith Slaton.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Norbert “Stan” Stanislav, and their two children: Lynn Boucher and her husband Bruno Boucher, and Craig Stanislav. She also leaves behind three grandchildren she treasured deeply: Jean Philippe “JP” Boucher and his wife, Otilia “Oti” Boucher, Bruce Boucher, and Danielle Boucher.

A celebration of Barbara’s life and faith will be held Friday, December 19, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1802 Bethel Road, Weatherford, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Weatherford Animal Shelter (at www.weatherfordtx.gov — select “Animal Services,” then “Donate”), honoring Barbara’s lifelong love for animals.
