Barbara Ann Hogan Jennings, 82, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 in Weatherford, Texas, surrounded by her loved ones. Visitation: 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Lakeshore Baptist Church, 200 S. Lakeshore Dr., Hudson Oaks. Funeral Service: 11 a.m. Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Lakeshore Baptist Church. Graveside Service: 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy., Dallas. Barbara was born on May 24, 1940 in Sebastian County, Arkansas to Ernest L. and Hester (Keith) Hogan. She grew up in Arkansas except for a short time spent with her family in Northern California. Barbara enjoyed playing basketball on the high school team. She graduated from Lavaca High School in 1958. She met the love of her life, Norris Wade Jennings, and they were married on June 13, 1958 and they would go on to spend nearly 65 happy years together. They had two children, Steve (1959), and Diane (1961). Together they lived in Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. Barbara was a homemaker with an Avon and a Home Interior business on the side. After the children were grown, she occasionally worked in retail. She was active in her churches everywhere that she lived. She taught children and youth Sunday School classes and enjoyed having parties at her home for these youngsters. Barbara was outgoing, friendly and loving which made her an excellent sales person and teacher. She loved to read and decorate her home. She was a member of couples and ladies bowling teams for many years. Norris and Barbara enjoyed camping and traveling together with family and friends. Barbara was a loving and involved grandma. She enjoyed snuggling while watching movies and eating snacks with the grandkids, reading to them, or swimming. She loved working in her flower gardens and playing games with the family. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Keith Hogan; and her grandson, Luke Jennings. Survivors include her loving husband, Norris Jennings; son, Steven Jennings and his wife, Rena Harden Jennings; daughter, Diane Jennings Jones and her husband, Mark Jones; grandchildren, Luke's wife Melissa Jennings, Rebecca Jennings Snider and her husband, Nick Snider, Sierra Jones Wheatley and her husband, Doug Wheatley, and Garrett Jennings Jones; great-grandchildren, Sonny Jennings, Liam Jennings, William Snider, Olivia Snider, Hudson Wheatley, and Emilia Wheatley; Barbara’s older sister, Carolyn Hogan Smithson; and many beloved nieces, and nephews.
