Arturo Cantu

Arturo Cantu passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, August 15, 2022 in Weatherford, Texas, with family by his side. Visitation will be private at Mr. Cantu’s request. Mr. Cantu was born August 11, 1953 in Mexico to Jesus & Petra Cantu. The family moved to Weatherford in December of 1957. He graduated from Weatherford High School, Class of 1972. He retired after 47 years of service as a Locomotive Engineer from Union Pacific Railroad. Arturo had a passion for reading and would read anything from a short story to an encyclopedia. He enjoyed martial arts and earned his brown belt in Tai Kwan Do. Arturo also loved to garden and mowing his lawn to make it beautiful. He was preceded in death by his father, Jesus Cantu; and brother, Jesse Cantu. He is survived by his wife, Ladonna; mother, Petra Cantu; sons, Joseph and Christopher Cantu; brother, Steve Cantu; sisters, Patricia Aspan, and Teresa Vasquez and husband, Daniel; and a host of family and friends.
