Ardath Rose Phillips

February 19, 1939 — June 21, 2022

Ardath Rose Wilson Phillips passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, with all of her daughters by her side. Ardath was born February 19, 1939 in Erath County, Texas to Troy & Eilleen Haralson Wilson. She graduated from Lipan High School in May of 1957 and attended Tarleton Jr. College in Stephenville and North Texas State University in Denton. Ardath married Benny Phillips of Weatherford on March 27, 1959. They celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in 2009 before his death in 2010. Ardath’s primary job was as a wife and mother of three, but she enjoyed her time working as the City Clerk when they were residents of Springtown where Benny was a teacher and coach. Ardath loved her family, especially her five granddaughters, four great-grandchildren and the many pets and animals she shared with Benny. Her beloved dog GiGi was right by her side until the end. Ardath accepted Jesus as her Savior during VBS at the FBC of Lipan when she was 11. She was an active and dedicated Christian servant throughout the remainder of her life. Ardath was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dennis, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Benny; and many family members and friends. Ardath is survived by her three daughters, Pam (Mike) Albert, Patti (Ken) Hale and Paula Mitchell; granddaughters, Elizabeth (Luke) Hinshaw, Taylor (Justin) Fairless, Faith and Hope Hale and Emily Albert; great-grandchildren, Kendall Montgomery, Elijah and Amelia Hinshaw, and Jacob Fox Fairless; brother, Fred (Marilyn) Wilson; sister-in-law, Peggy Phillips; brother and sister-in-law, Eddie and Linda Phillips; many cousins, nieces and nephews; special friends, Anne Dvorak, Charlotte Price, Diane Hyatt and Fannie Logan; traveling buddies, LaVerta Haney and Patty LeJeune; and her loyal companion, GiGi. Graveside Service: 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Evergreen Cemetery, Lipan, TX. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First Baptist Church of Dennis, TX or Evergreen Cemetery, Lipan, TX.
