With heavy hearts we announce that Andrew Richard Willardson-McElyea gained his angel wings on Saturday, May 23, 2026. Born in Utah to Rick and Katherine Willardson-McElyea and raised in San Diego, Andrew spent his later years in Azle, where he lived with the same fierce loyalty and generous spirit that defined his life.

Andrew was a true jack of all trades — a hard worker who took pride in his tools. He loved the outdoors, gathering around bonfires with friends, cooking out, fishing and hunting. Music filled his days, and he treasured the laughter and memories shared with his self-made family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Katherine Willardson-McElyea; his grandfather, Kenneth Emery; his aunt, Monique; and best friend, Brian.

Andrew leaves behind a circle of loved ones who will forever carry him in their hearts: Byron, Ruben, Zack, David, Juan, Joy, Justin, Mike, Darlene, Earl, James and many others. Among the greatest loves of his life were his mother; Kim, his love; Granny, his heart; and his faithful companion, Rider, his beloved dog.

Andrew’s memory will endure in the countless acts of kindness he offered, the projects he completed with care, and the loyalty he showed to everyone fortunate enough to know him. His laughter, steady work ethic, and big heart will be deeply missed.
