Andrew Vincent Sorcic, III, 67, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many passed away Friday, May 18, 2018 after a long illness, with his loving wife faithfully by his side. He is no longer in pain, his battle is won.Celebration of Life: 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Perrin United Methodist Church, 101 S. Wilder Street, Perrin, Texas.Andy, also known as Brownie, was born November 21, 1950 in Fort Worth, son of the late Andrew Vincent Sorcic, Jr. and Beyrl Linder Sorcic. He joined the United States Army, and served in Vietnam as a helicopter gunner. During his service, his helicopter was shot down and he was wounded. Andy received the Purple Heart as a result of his injury. He proudly and honorably served his country, and we are grateful for his dedication and service. Andy met Michelle Wise and they fell in love and married April 12, 1974 in Kennedale. They spent many happy years together raising their family. Andy loved nature and watching and feeding birds, often pulling the car over to look at a bird he had spotted. He was an animal lover and they all seemed to be drawn to him as well. Andy was an avid hunter and fisherman, never for the trophy, always for food for his family, which they all enjoyed very much. He made his living as a welder. It is said that when Andy built it, it was built to last. He loved restoring old cars, and they too were built to last, many still on the road today. Andy was also a member of Perrin Masonic Lodge 1082.Andy was a man of few words, but his words had true meaning. When he spoke, people listened. He believed that his word was his bond, and he took great pride in honoring his word and in standing behind all of the work he did. Andy's most important legacy was his love for his family. They were all truly the light of his life. He will be deeply missed by all of the lives he touched.Andy was preceded in death by his parents, Andy and Bee Sorcic.Survivors: Wife of 44 wonderful years, Michelle Sorcic; daughter, Peggy Crutsinger and husband, Bobby; step-daughter, Kathleen Eatinger and husband, Ken; grandchildren, R.
