Amber Lynn Stripling

March 24, 1958 — October 26, 2023

Amber Lynn Stripling, 65, passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2023 in Fort Worth after a valiant battle with cancer. She was surrounded by family and friends at the time of her passing. Rosary: 10:20 a.m. Thursday, November 2, 2023 at Saint Stephen Catholic Church, 1802 Bethel Road, Weatherford. Mass of Christian Burial: 11 a.m. Thursday following the Rosary at Saint Stephen Catholic Church. Interment: 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Birdville Cemetery, 6100 Cemetery Road, Haltom City. She was born Amber Lynn Boaz on March 24, 1958 to Dr. Wilson O. Boaz and Hazel (Hampton) Boaz. She married the love of her life, Jerry Wayne Stripling, on October 15, 1983. They spent 25 loving years together until Jerry’s passing on May 23, 2008. Amber was the daughter of a veterinarian and grew up a farm girl. She loved all sorts of animals, especially her little dogs and any cat that crossed her path. She loved cows and deer, and often expressed her wish to pet a penguin. She could make friends with anyone she met, and had pen pals all across the world. Her family maintains that she could sit next to a rock and somehow extract its life history. Amber enjoyed traveling when she could, and visited many places, including Washington, DC, Mexico, Canada, and Florida. Her adventures also included a special trip to Hiawatha, Kansas, to see the path of totality during a solar eclipse. One of her favorite places of all was Alaska, where she lived with her family for several years. She loved to cook, and especially loved sharing her famous brownies. Trying new recipes was a favorite pastime and an opportunity to spend time with family. She always enjoyed sharing the results with friends and neighbors. Amber was a devoted member of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Weatherford, Texas. She ran the gift shop with joy and enthusiasm for many years, and the church ended up calling it “Amber’s Gift Shop”. Amber herself called it her “ministry” and felt it was the place she was meant to be, serving the Lord in her way. Amber was extremely close to her mother, dedicating herself to her mother’s care during the final years of Hazel’s life. She was a caring and loyal friend and mother, and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Gemma Nan Groebler. Amber is survived by her three devoted children, Micah, Shannon, and Jared Stripling; her sister, Carol Boaz Lynch; and a host of extended family members and friends.
