Alice Joyce Garrison Sain, 88, of Graford, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026.
Graveside Service: 2:00 pm, Tuesday, May 12 in Graford Cemetery in Graford, Texas.
Visitation: 12:00-4:00 pm, Monday, May 11, 2026 at White's Funeral Home, 404 NE 1st Avenue, Mineral Wells, Texas.
Alice was born January 27, 1938, in Oran, Texas, daughter of the late Pauline Smith Garrison Cox.
A lifelong Graford resident and an indispensable member of the community, Alice was a graduate of Graford High School class of 1956. After 30 dedicated years to AT&T-Southwestern Bell, Alice served Graford both as mayor and a devoted member of the city council—lending her moxie to efforts including Blackman Park and pioneering the town’s annual 4th of July celebration.
She is predeceased by her loving husband, Richard David Sain; brother, Charles Garrison; sister, Phyllis Ault; great-grandson, Tristan Price; and nephew, Charlie “Little Richie” Minton.
Alice is survived by daughter, Dixie Sain Smiddy and husband Ricky, of Weatherford, Texas; three granddaughters, Michelle Price, of Millington, Tennessee, Joanna Miracle and husband Matt, of Sargent, Texas, and Christi Smiddy, of Fort Worth, Texas; five great-granddaughters, Kara and Avorie Ellison, and Kayla, Lindsay, and Elizabeth Miracle; brother, Bill Garrison; niece, Shannon Schwab and husband David, of Dothan, Alabama; great-niece, Julianna Schwab; and beloved friend, Sherry Minton.
