Alfred Joe Horan, 92, of Whitt, Texas, passed away peacefully Monday, January 2, 2023. Joe - "I've Lived a Great 92 years!" No services are planned at this time. Joe was born in Munday, Texas on August 2, 1930, to Robert F. Horan, Sr. and Winnie Mae Susan (Gollehon) Horan. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean conflict. He retired from General Dynamics after 35 years in 1985. After retirement, Joe enjoyed continuing to work at his farm and did so until just days before he passed. Joe loved his "Blue Bird" golf cart, his trusted canine companion, Mutt, and Sally Cat, who road to check cattle daily in “Blue Bird”. Joe was a great husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him, young or old. So many things to say but one lasting word is no one ever did anything for him that the words "Thank You" weren't spoken in return. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Mae Wright Horan; his parents, Robert Sr. and Winnie Horan; sister, Francis; brothers, Bill and Robert Horan Jr. He is survived by his wife, Maxine Horan; daughters, Martha Decker, Joy Pilgrim, and Julie Short; and son, Joe Bill Horan. Joe loved his grandchildren and their special accomplishments that made him proud, Weston, Jansen, Joe Neal, Conner, Katie, Heather and Maeson. Rest now Hun, Dad, Daddy, Papa Joe, Grandpa, and Uncle Joe.
