Darlene Breed, 73, went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, February 24th, 2022 at a hospital in Azle. A private graveside service will be held at Springtown Cemetery. Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11am, Tuesday, March 1st at the Abbey Church, 10400 Jacksboro Hwy., Fort Worth, TX 76135. Darlene was born March 25th, 1948 in Wichita Falls to John Henry and Aletha Jane (Dykes) Scarlett. Darlene was born and raised in Wichita Falls Texas, graduated from WFHS in 1966, married Butch Breed in 1972 and moved with him to Dallas, Texas. Darlene raised her family in Dallas, Carrollton and Springtown, Texas. They then moved to Denton for 15 years before settling in Azle for the past 13 years. Darlene worked for ARCO in Dallas as a reports secretary and then she was a stay at home mom to raise her children Mark and Bobby. She taught and was principal of Outreach of Love Christian Academy. They moved to Denton where she worked at University of North Texas for 8 years. She then became a writer/editor for Kenneth Copeland Ministries until her death. She was a longstanding member of The Abbey Church where she served on staff in multiple capacities, including marriage counselor, licensed minister, communications manager and financial record keeper. Darlene loved her husband Butch for 50 years and 12 days, loved her family, grandkids and great grandkids. Over the years, Darlene has touched many lives and she will be missed by all who knew her. Darlene is preceded in death by her parents John Henry Scarlett and Jane Scarlett Clevenger, stepfather George Clevenger and stepmother JoAnn Scarlett and her brother Greg Scarlett. She is survived by her husband, Butch and her two sons Mark and his wife Tammy and Bobby and his wife Lisa. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Tanner, Tyler, Taylor, Bailey and Brock and their spouses. Three great granddaughters Blakely, Scarlett and Emmalyn. She is survived by her siblings Debbie, David and Stacy and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. Her favorite farewell was; Love ya, See ya!
