Tommie Gene Barrett (Paw Paw), 84, passed away Sunday, November 12, 2017 surrounded by his family.
Service: 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at White’s Azle Chapel.
Interment: Boonsville Cemetery.
Visitation: 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday at White’s Azle Funeral Home.
Tommie was born July 24, 1933 in Mansfield to Ambrose and Vicie Barrett. He married the late Bessie Grantham on August 29, 1952 and started their family of Craig and Kaye Lynn. In 1965 Tommie and Bessie moved to Azle where they were members of Ash Creek Baptist Church. Tommie‘s passions were his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He retired in 1995 from Union Pacific Railroad as a machinist in the Diesel Shop. Tommie’s hobbies included hunting deer, quail, turkey as well as small engine repair. He honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corp, serving in Korea.
Tommie was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bessie; brother, Wiley; and his parents.
Survivors: Son, Craig Barrett and wife, Daniece; daughter, Kaye Lynn Judd and husband, Edgar; grandchildren, Mikael Barrett, Mandi Renfro and husband, Chris, Jason Judd, Whitney Judd and Zachary Barrett; great-grandchildren, Tye Renfro and Cade Renfro; sisters, Mary and husband, Tommie Culbertson, Marcella Watson and late husband, Robert; special lifelong friend, Weldon Greer (Cowboy); his little brown dog, and Missy and Bozo.
