Mabel Ann McClendon

Mabel Ann Martin McClendon, 82, of Briar, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 22, 2017.

Graveside Service: 10:00 A.M. Thursday at Azleland Memorial Park. 

Visitation: 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday at White’s Azle Funeral Home.

Mabel was born January 31, 1935 in McAllister, Okla. To James Phillip (J.P.) and Arby Teen Goodman Martin. She was beautician for more than 50 years and owned and operated McClendon’s Beauty Shop in Briar for 45 years. Mabel was full of life and enjoyed cooking, gardening, quilting and sewing for family and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack Dwight McClendon; brother, Jim Martin; and dear friend, Faye Tackel. 

Survivors: Son, David McClendon; daughter, Carol McClendon Tackle and husband, David; grandchildren, Jami McClendon Burns and husband, Brian, Jayson McClendon and wife, Kimmi, and Matt Tackel; great-grandchildren, Noah and Olivia Burns, and Jacob and Jed McClendon; sister, Hazel Evans; brother, Joe Martin; and friend, Susan Burkett.
