Mabel Arvella Vess Hawkins

Mabel Vess Hawkins, 97, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and friend, passed away Friday, Oct. 28, 2016.
Memorial service: 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at White's Funeral Home Azle Chapel, 105 Denver Tr., Azle, 76020.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Foster's Home for Children, 1779 N. Graham St., Stephenville, Texas, 76401.
Mabel was born Jan. 30, 1919, in Keeter to James and Annie Vess. She was one of 12 children.
Mabel was preceded in death by her first husband, Grayson Parker; second husband, Charles Hawkins; and her parents.
The family would like to thank Kathryn Lee for all her loving care of Ms. Hawkins.
Survivors: Children, Wanda Lee, John Parker, Joy Simpson and husband, Larry, James Parker and wife, Cindy, and Linda Maikell and husband, Joe; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
