Granbury -- Gary Wayne Smith, 64, succumbed to life on Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at an Arlington hospital, surrounded by his loved ones.
Funeral: 10:30 a.m., Wednesday at White's Chapel of Memories.
Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
Gary was born in 1951, at All Saints Hospital in Fort Worth, to Lois Marie Edgemon and Foy Don Smith. Gary attended school and worked in the Fort Worth area as a journeyman plumber until joining the United States Army in 1971. He was honorably discharged with the rank of SP4 in 1977. Upon leaving the military, Gary continued working in the plumbing trade, becoming a master plumbing contractor.
He is known throughout Texas for his dependable and diligent work. He loved and was devoted to all of his family: aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and extremely close family friends were a constant joy in his life. His passing will be his new and joyous beginning.
Gary is preceded in death by his older brother, William Paul Batey; and daughter, Stacey Alaine Smith.
Survivors: Daughter, Pamela Michelle Smith; sisters, Elayne Wolpa, Sharon Daugherty, Pamela Seidl and Janis Hoover and husband, Mick.
